I applied to a few other schools but this was my first choice, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't very very excited! Any fellow Oppo members who are/were students at RIT out there?

I'm from an 1 1/2 hours south and have a few friends and family who go or have gone there and a bunch that live in Rochester. Congrats on getting in, its a great school and there are autocrosses by the Finger Lakes SCCA in the parking lot!

Congratulations! I had a friend who studied photography there in the mid-80s. He never finished. So, I'm not exactly a fount of knowledge about the place. I believe, though, that hockey is king up there. My friend told some wild stories about attending games. Have fun!

Some of the Finger Lakes guys are pretty chill, get to know them, show up to some events and volunteer and they might let you co drive with one of them!
Also I believe RIT has a Formula SAE program

Yeah RIT's Formula SAE team was actually one of the reasons I wanted to go there, it was pretty much a requirement for any sschool I was/am looking at.
And sweet, I will probably have to make some trips over to events, I would love to even just go watch them and talk to everybody.

They always enjoy new people who are into cars and such plus I love just working the course shagging cones because Im usually talking cars with the other guys at the station!

I always love just being able to go somewhere where there's people to just talk about cars with, around here people with legitimate knowledge and/or interest are usually few and far between.

Congrats!!!, I get a ton of stuff advertising for them, but I don't want to move cross country, plus its more expensive than the local instate school that has a decent electrical engineering program.

I know about a dozen old RIT FSAE people, most of them at SpaceX, a couple at Tesla. Cool people, smart and great at engineering. Good choice.

I'm not sure how I missed this, but congrats. I didn't go to RIT, but a very good friend of mine went there for IT, and another acquaintance of mine went there for Photography many years ago.
Very very good school.
